This study is focused on the perspective of the parents regarding the benefits they perceive in
their children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) when they carry out equine therapy
sessions. A qualitative study that focuses on knowing the benefits that families perceive on a
daily basis, to whom a semi-structured interview (N=6) has been done. This has allowed a
thematic analysis focusing on four blocks: (a) Benefits at a social level (b) Benefits at a
cognitive level (c) Benefits at a communicative level (d) Current situation. The results show
the significant benefits reported by the families, and consequently, the changes they have
perceived. The statements submitted permit conclusions to be formed about the effectiveness
of the therapies carried out with the horses.
