Metodología on demand para el desarrollo de la asignatura de Sistemas Operativos Avanzados

Abstract

Este artículo explora la metodología on demand, que puede ser considerada una nueva faceta del Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos (Project Based Learning). Esta metodología de aprendizaje está orientada a potenciar la pro-actividad del alumno en la adquisición de conocimientos y habilidades. La metodología on demand ha sido aplicada con éxito durante el curso académico 2011-2012 en una asignatura del Grado de Ingeniería Informática. Tanto los resultados académicos como la satisfacción por parte del alumnado son claramente contrastables con los resultados obtenidos en cursos anteriores siguiendo una impartición de la asignatura más tradicional. Finalmente, también se destaca que para la correcta implantación de esta metodología es imprescindible el soporte y la correcta utilización de un Learning Management System (LMS).

The aim of this article is to share our findings related to on demand methodology, which may be considered as a variation of Project Based Learning. This learning methodology aims to stimulate the pro-activity of the student in the acquisition of knowledge and skills. On-demand methodology was successfully implemented in a subject of the Computer Engineering degree in the academic year of 2011-12. There is a clear contrast between both the academic results and the satisfaction level of the students obtained on this course and those of previous courses in which more traditional teaching methods were used. Collected experiences underline how important the support and proper use of a Learning Management System (LMS) is in the correct implantation of on-demand methodology.
