Proposta d’un projecte de biblioteca escolar per a l’etapa de primària

Abstract

La biblioteca escolar és molt més que un espai físic dins l’escola on es realitzen serveis bibliotecaris; amb un projecte definit i la implicació de tota la comunitat educativa pot arribar a ser un recurs educatiu integrat en l’escola que no únicament es limita al foment de la lectura sinó que també esdevé un centre de recursos per a l’ensenyament i aprenentatge (CREA) i un autèntic eix dinamitzador del currículum de totes les àrees. En aquest estudi es pretén, primerament, sintetitzar la importància i potencialitat de la biblioteca escolar. Segonament, a partir de la recollida de les concepcions i opinions de l’equip directiu i pedagògic de primària d’un centre, es proposa un esborrany de projecte que respondria a les necessitats concretes d’aquest. Es distingeixen dues fases: una fase inicial d’establiment del projecte, i una segona amb diferents propostes dirigides als alumnes de l’etapa de primària que inclouen activitats que fomenten la lectura, que donen suport al currículum de diferents àrees i també que situen la biblioteca com a centre de recursos.

School libraries are much more than just a physical space within a school that offers librarian services: with a defined project and the implication of the whole educational community, it has the potential to become an educational resource that not only encourages reading but also becomes a Learning Resource Center and an enhancer of the curriculum in all subjects. This study aims to, firstly, summarize the importance and potentiality of school libraries. Secondly, through the collection of the management team and teachers’ conceptions and opinions, it presents a draft of a school library project that answers to the needs of one particular school. Two phases are displayed: an inicial phase, in which the project is designed, and a second phase with different proposals aimed at Primary students. These proposals include activities that endeavor to encourage reading, that support different subjects’ curriculums and that place the library as a resource center.
