This mixed-method case study analyzes the effectiveness of an educational module combining different methodologies within the transformative learning approach to foster students’ agency. It is articulated around an action-based challenge related to tourism for all, and proposes design thinking as a problem-solving method, and learning logs as self-regulating reflective tools. Results showed a positive change in students’ attitudes towards people with disabilities and the development of critical reflexivity. Students reported being committed to contributing to ensure accessibility. We hope the pedagogical insights obtained in this study inspire more educators to support and implement educational innovation for social transformation and inclusion.ca
