Experiencias culturales novedosas para la Barcelona actual

Abstract

El llamado ‘turismo cultural’ necesita con urgencia un espacio de refl exión que controle, evalúe y desarrolle nuevos contenidos y ofertas culturales para tratar de dinamizar un tipo de turismo que necesita nuevos escenarios. Es en este sentido que este artículo propone ocho escenarios asociados al turismo cultural que pueden ser implantados en la Barcelona actual. Unos dependen de que entidades públicas y privadas, asociándose o por separado, crean fi rmemente en la Ciudad Condal como un destino turístico cultural imprescindible; otros, están asociados a las nuevas tecnologías, al consumo de productos regionales y a la implantación del low cost en el terreno del turismo cultural. The so-called ‘cultural tourism’ calls for immediate refl ection in order to monitor, evaluate and develop new content and cultural off erings to try to boost a type of tourism which urgently needs new scenarios. It is in this sense that this article proposes eight scenarios related to cultural tourism which can be implanted in Barcelona today. Some depend on public and private entities, either in association or separately, to fi rmly believe in the Catalan capital as a vital cultural destination; while others are associated with new technologies, the consumption of local products and the introduction of low cost into the fi eld of cultural tourism. This paper discusses and summarizes the study carried out by students Zully Avila, Aleksandra Gerasimets and Pauline Mayer, with Ricardo Baixeras Borrell as academic advisor and submitt ed as the fi nal draft of the end of the year dissertation for TSI - Turismo Sant Ignasi, Ramon Llull University, Barcelona.
