La qualitat de vida familiar i les necessitats de les famílies amb persones amb discapacitat visual

Abstract

La discapacitat visual en infants pot provocar certes limitacions en l’aprenentatge i l’exploració de l’entorn. En aquest sentit, la família esdevé el mitjà entre l’infant i el seu entorn. De fet, és l’encarregada d’oferir al nen situacions d’aprenentatge i de desenvolupament. Tot i això, el paper actiu de la família en el desenvolupament del nen amb DV pot variar d’acord al seu sentiment de competència, la seva Qualitat de Vida Familiar o les necessitats que perceben com a resoltes. El present treball fa una revisió d’aquells estudis que tenen per objectiu detectar les necessitats i/o la Qualitat de Vida de les famílies amb fills amb discapacitat visual. Es realitza una revisió bibliogràfica entre els anys 2000 i 2017, obtenint un total de 7 estudis. Aquests han sigut analitzats tenint en compte les següents variables: les característiques de la mostra, els instruments i els resultats de la Qualitat de Vida Familiar o de les necessitats percebudes. Els resultats de la recerca suggereixen que hi ha certes necessitats familiars no cobertes i una qualitat de vida familiar molt variable. Això implica que encara queda molt camí per a respondre a les necessitats de les famílies i, en conseqüència, a la dels seus fills. Per aquesta raó, el treball finalitza amb les limitacions trobades i les perspectives pels futurs investigadors.

A visual impairment causes certain limitations in the learning and the exploration of the environment in the child. In this situation, the family plays an important role. They are in charge of providing learning and developmental situations to the child. Despite this, their

active role in their child’s development may vary along with their own perceptions of self- competence, family quality of life or perceived needs. The present paper reviews those

studies related to the family quality of life or perceived needs of the families with a child with vision impairments. A systematic literature review was conducted between years 2000 and 2017. Resulting in a total of 7 studies. The studies were analysed according to the following variables: characteristics of the sample, the data collection instrument used and the results of the Family Quality of Life or needs perceived. Findings from this review suggests that there are some needs not covered as well as a changing well-being sensation among families with children with VI. In short, there is still a long way to offer good responses to the needs of the families and, as a consequence, to their children’ needs. For this reason, the study ends with the limitations encountered and the prospects for future researchers.
