Nihilism, as was expressed by Nietzsche's philosophy, is not only the result of mod- ern enlightment, but the very final step in the evolution of Western metaphysics; other- wise stated, Nietzsche brings Western metaphysics to its fulfilment (Vollendung). The aim of this article is to understand Heidegger's interpretation of the end of metaphysics through the analysis of the conferences given by him during the ((Winter Semester)) of 1936-1937, which were almost entirely dedicated to Nietzsche's concept of ((Will to Power)). This concept is the basis of Heidegger's interpretation of modern technology.
