Steiner, lector de Wittgenstein: algunas notas para el estudio de la recepción del pensador vienés en la obra del crítico literario

Abstract

El presente trabajo recoge, sin pretensión de exhaustividad, algunas notas que permitan desarrollar el estudio de la recepción del pensamiento de Ludvig Wittgenstein en la obra crítica de George Steiner. Partiendo de una introducción a las implicaciones teológicas latentes en los problemas centrales que se van a abordar, esbozamos, siempre partiendo de Steiner, la relación del Tractatus con el “giro lingüístico", la discusión acerca del lenguaje público y el lenguaje privado en las Investigaciones y el significado poético potencial de la obra de Wittgenstein. Finalmente planteamos brevemente la relación de la obra de Wittgenstein con la vocación judía y formulamos algunas de las críticas de Steiner al pensador vienés, poniendo en cuestión su licitud.

The present work depicts, without hope of exhaustiveness, some notes that may allow to develope the study of the reception of Ludvig Wittgensteins' thinking in George Steiner's critical work. Begginnig with an introduction to the latent theological implications of the main problems that we are going to tackle, we outline, always starting from Steiner, the connection between the Tractatus and the "linguistic change", the discussion about the public and the private language in the Philosophical Investigations and the potential poetic meaning of the Wittgenstein's work. Finally, we set out briefly the link between the Wittgwnstein's work and the Jewish vocation, and we formulate some of the Steiner's criticism at the Viennese thinker, calling their licitness into question.
