Conflictes ètics en la consulta privada de Fisioteràpia a Catalunya: protocol d’investigació qualitativa

Abstract

Antecedents: Actualment la figura del fisioterapeuta ha anat guanyant protagonisme i autonomia tant per la societat, les institucions i pels pacients. Aquesta autonomia, li ha fet adquirir més responsabilitats sobre aquests. A les consultes privades de fisioteràpia apareixen conflictes bioètics que requereixen d’una reflexió més exhaustiva per part del fisioterapeuta. Existeix literatura sobre la matèria però s'han realitzat escasses investigacions al respecte. Objectius: L’objectiu principal d'aquest estudi és identificar i descriure els conflictes ètics que existeixen en la consulta privada de fisioteràpia a Catalunya. Els objectius secundaris són definir què és un conflicte ètic i detectar si hi ha diferents conflictes ètics en la consulta privada de Catalunya segons l'àrea geogràfica de la consulta, els anys de professió del fisioterapeuta, l’especialitat de fisioteràpia, la situació de propietari o assalariat en la consulta i segons el gènere del fisioterapeuta. Metodologia: Es realitzarà un estudi de fenomenologia amb un disseny exploratori a través entrevistes grupals del tipus grups de discussió. Els grups de discussió estaran formats per 8 fisioterapeutes que treballin en consulta privada de fisioteràpia a Catalunya i la durada d'aquests serà de 60 minuts. Es realitzarà tants grups de discussió com siguin necessaris per a aconseguir la saturació d'informació. Les entrevistes grupals seran enregistrades mitjançant una gravadora de veu per a les seves posteriors anàlisis.

Background: Lately, the figure of the physiotherapist has gained prominence, importance and autonomy for the society and institutions as well as for the patients. This autonomy has made the former acquire more responsibilities over the latter. There are many bioethical conflicts that appear in private physiotherapist consultations which require a more thorough reflection on the part of the physiotherapist.There is some literature though scarce research on the matter. Objectives: The main objective of this study is to identify and describe the ethical conflicts that exist in the private physiotherapist consultation in Catalonia. The secondary objectives are to define what an ethical conflict is and to detect if there are different ethical conflicts in the private consultation of Catalonia depending on the geographic location of the consultation, the experience and years of profession of the physiotherapist, the specialty of physiotherapy, the situation of the owner of the consult, and the gender of the physical therapist. Methodology: A phenomenological study with an exploratory design will be carried out by means of a series of group interviews of the kind “discussion group”. The discussion groups will consist of eight physiotherapists who work in private consults in Catalonia, and their duration will be 60 minutes. There will be as many discussion groups as necessary in order to reach the saturation of information. The group interviews will be taped by a voice recorder for further analysis.
