Abstract
This chapter explores and analyzes the impact of the Internet and mobile technology upon the major religions of the world. Reviewing the present digital times (Díez Bosch et al., 2015a; Grant et al., 2019) and the evolution of digital technologies, we present an overview of the meaning of these technologies and what they might mean for religions in the future. This chapter reviews the link between religion and the Internet, and then considers how this relationship between the online sphere and religions became mobile through the role of communities, social media, and especially mobile applications, looking at how phenomena such as robotics and artificial intelli-gence could become a very close next step.
