Abstract
This communication presents the freshmen’ selfassessment
conducted in the 2024-2025 academic course in the
subject ‘Principles of Political Economy’ of a Philosophy, Politics
and Economics degree. Students’ assessment is a relevant activity
as explicitly written in the New Learning Context (NLC)
implemented at La Salle Universitat Ramon Llull (La Salle-URL).
Students were required to submit a self-assessment after
completing a relevant course activity, and to provide a predicted
final grade for the subject two weeks before the end of the
program. The instructor did not review these self-assessments
until all course activities (including the final grade) were
completed. The findings indicate that most students who
responded to the survey estimated their grades accurately.
